Our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) class is a 135 hours class. Upon completion of this class the student will be able to assist the doctor with a variety of tasks in a clinical setting. Upon successful completion of the class, student will be able to take the NHA CCMA exam. At the end of the CCMA class module, the student will be able to: perform hand washing, dispose of biohazard materials, practice standard precautions, properly introduce self and identify patients, be able to perform telephone and in person screening, prepare and maintain examination and treatment setting, help prepare patient for and/or assist with routine/specialty exams, and demonstrate knowledge of: maintenance of medication/immunization records, taking and recording vital signs, responding to and initiating verbal and written communication, responding to issues of patient confidentiality/HIPPA, performing within legal/ethical boundaries, the use and care of patient equipment.
This class counts towards 135 of the 280 hours needed to complete our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Program.
The CCMA program consists of:
EKG 65 hours
Phlebotomy 80 hours
CMA 135 hours
CCMA Prerequisite
To become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) you must complete the following 3 classes: EKG (CET), Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Class
